Internal circlip universal joints are a type of U-joint where the bearing caps are retained by circlips (snap rings) that sit in grooves located on the outside of the yoke ears, rather than inside the bore. This design provides a secure and visible method of retention, making inspection and replacement straightforward. Available with thrust washers in some sizes.
