Thrust Bearings
In marine applications with conventional shaft drives, the thrust and vibration from the propeller is transmitted axially through the prop shaft to the couplings, through the transmission then onto the engine. These traditional installations require stiff engine mounts which
transmit vibrations through to the hull.
Turret thrust bearings designed and manufactured by Beattys provide the perfect solution in absorbing the propeller thrust and transferring
it via the supporting bulkhead directly to the structure of the vessel. These installations allow for a wider alignment flexibility
including horizontal mounting of the engine.
