Our Journey

D’Arcy Brodie starts a general engineering business as DG Brodie.

1963

Began specialising in driveshafts – Beatty Engineering.

1976

Johnathan Brodie (2nd generation) joins the business.

1980

Name changed to Beattys Driveshaft Centre to reflect the company’s specialised offering.

1982

Commenced importing of driveline product.

1985

Relocated to new premises on Oak Road, Auckland.

1989

Established a nationwide network of resellers.

1991

2nd generation enters ownership of the business.

1995

Specialist machinery purchased to overhaul large industrial driveshafts.

1997

Beattys launches its own brand of driveline componentry — TURRET.

2000

Hamish Brodie (3rd generation) joins the business.

2002

Relocated to a purpose-built facility at Harbour Ridge Drive, Wiri, Auckland.

2015

Beattys expands into global markets.

2020

Name changed to Beattys Group.
